Planning a birthday party for your little wild one? Whether you’re celebrating a first birthday or throwing something fun for a curious toddler, a jungle safari theme brings adventure, color, and plenty of excitement to the big day.
In this post, I’ll show you how to create a Wild One Jungle Safari Birthday Party—complete with animal-themed decorations, creative activity ideas, and charming details to make your celebration unforgettable. Let’s go wild!

🦁 Lion King-Inspired Table Setup
I centered this theme around this bold Lion King tablecloth—the perfect starting point for a jungle adventure. Whether you’re planning a Lion King or Mufasa party or just going for a jungle or safari vibe, this tablecloth instantly sets the tone with its rich colors and playful design.

🐘 Safari Animal Balloons
For a vibrant pop of color, I used orange, green, brown, and cream balloons. This 50-piece set gives you more than enough to make a full balloon garland.
If garlands feel intimidating, don’t worry! You can also use balloon tower stands from Dollar Tree. They’re simple, affordable, and look amazing.
To take the jungle vibe up a notch, I added helium balloons shaped like an elephant, lion, cheetah, zebra, and monkey. These fun animal balloons can be easily incorporated into your garland for a playful, 3D effect.
You can also tie them to balloon trees for a bold centerpiece or scatter them around your space for a roaming-safari look. Wherever you place them, these animals will bring the jungle to life!

🌿 Palm Leaf Jungle Banner
For an extra touch of jungle greenery, I used a palm leaf jungle banner. Hang it on the wall or drape it across the front of the highchair tray for a charming jungle detail.
The vibrant leaves bring in that jungle feel, making it easy to elevate your decor without much effort!

🐾Table Setting Details
Of course, no jungle safari party is complete without lion plates. You need plates anyway—might as well make them match the theme!
To bring in more texture, I used yellow fringe napkins that give off a fun, straw-like vibe.
To finish off the look, I found adorable birthday candles shaped like paw prints and palm leaves. Whether you’re celebrating a Wild One or just embracing the jungle theme, these candles bring the perfect finishing touch to the party!
☀️Party Favors and Activity Ideas

For a fun party favor, I found plastic animal figurines—perfect for any jungle safari party! You can go with all lions or choose a mix. These are just $1 each and make great keepsakes for little guests.
For a fun activity, I found temporary hand art inspired by the African sunrise. I call it “Jungle Ink.”
These come in a pack of 96, so there’s plenty for everyone. Kids will love decorating their hands with bold, colorful patterns—and showing off their wild designs during the party!
